Colour Finishes & Wood Features

Our paint finishes are chosen for their looks, their durability and their safety (ALL of our finishes are formulated to comply with the Toy Standard EN71). It is a fact of life when working with wood that surfaces finishes may vary slightly from batch to batch.

Also, the same finishes can look very different in different lights. We have tried to make our photography as accurate as possible but please be aware that product finishes may vary slightly from what is shown.

We think of this as part of the charm. Please let us know if you disagree.

The vast majority of our furniture is made of wood. It is our intention that the grain and texture of the wood are apparent even beneath painted finishes. Again, we think that's an important part of the charm.

With painted pine it is not always possible to completely stabilise the knots in the wood. This means that in some conditions (particularly if furniture stands in bright sunshine over a long period of time or where the prevailing temperature and / or humidity is high) knots may start to show through paint finishes.
